The Net Gain project has now released its draft final Marine Conservation Zone recommendations. These recommendations highlight draft areas outlined by stakeholders (sea users and conservationists) to be identified for designated by Defra as future protected sites. These sites will form a network of protected areas within the North Sea for marine wildlife.
