Sea Watch Lincolnshire needs your help
Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust alongside the Sea Watch Foundation would like to start gathering data on the presence of whales, dolphins and porpoises on the Lincolnshire Coast. This will allow us to build up a picture of the species living along our coastline and their distribution along the East Coast.
To enable us to do this we need volunteers to help carry out dedicated watches or inform us if you have been out on the coast and spotted one of these animals.
This information will help us study and protect UK whales, dolphins and porpoises. This is a good opportunity to get out on the coast and explore what species can be seen, while contributing to increasing the information we have on our coastline. If you would like to carry out watches we can provide you with spotting guides, with the species you are most likely to see and forms to fill out while you are completing the watch.
If you would like more information on the project and volunteering or have spotted a whale, dolphin or porpoise along the Lincolnshire coast please email dmiller@lincstrust.org.uk or contact Dave Miller, Coastal Ranger at Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve.
